Stop Smoking
Tobacco smoking is a major cause of worldwide deaths and it is a common sight to observe someone trying to give up. It is a very difficult task which is why many different organisations and trains of thought have devised methods of undertaking it.
Smoking kills 5.4 million people a year worldwide and causes great strain on health authorities, which is why quitting smoking is a cause that gets a lot of attention and those trying to do so have a lot of help available to them.
There are some side effects of quitting, such as depression and anxiety as well as insomnia, irritability, rhinorrhea and more, however the long term effects could outweigh these.
There are many ways to stop smoking, such as going cold turkey, stop smoking nicotine replacement therapies (such as patches, inhalers or gum), support groups, an injection (a treatment in its early stages), hypnotherapy, herbs as substitutes, certain antidepressants, acupuncture, self help books and many more.
Though quitting smoking is difficult, many people understand the health benefits of going through with it. Smoking has been linked to many conditions such as lung cancer, heart disease, psoriasis and many more.
